Here's how it works:
- Installation - The Lojack unit is hidden in the vehicle by a certified technician. The unit is registered with the Lojack Database
- Notification - The vehicle owner reports the theft to the police. Police then activate the unit and contacts Lojack.
- Activation - Police computers automatically send radio signals from a tower. The Lojack unit begins to emit a coded signal directly to the police.
- Location - Police track the signal and use it to locate the vehicle, usually within hours
- Recovery - The vehicle is returned to the owner.
